I've been hanging out here at this thing, not because of some new web 2.0 communication method, but because I was intrigued with Merlin Mann and his 43 Folders website. I started with the email links in Thing 7, just cuz I wanted to see what could possibly be interesting about email and I got hooked on this guy's stuff. I have changed the way I do email because of his 60 minute presentation called Inbox Zero. He has a bunch of websites about personal productivity and I love them. I posted his video on our EW site. Check it out.
Inbox Zero Talk
I now have an inbox, an archive box and a to respond box. I've never had such a clean inbox in my life. This may be old hat to others, but totally revolutionary to me. It's working beautifully. What a nerd I am.
I also took some time to look at Google gadgets and added a new posting to my Edgewood Mac Blog for teachers to see. I'd like to do a Google chat with someone else that has a Google account. Maybe I'll try it with Mary L when she gets to this thing #.

Thing #5 More Fun with Flickr
Thing #4 Flickr
6th grade students share photos in a school photo gallery 3 times a year. The theme of this gallery was Robotics. Students took photos of the legos used in their robotics unit and manipulated the photos in Photoshop.
I loaded a few of their photos in my flickr account and "blogged" this one.

Thing #3 RSS
Ok I subscribed to a few blogs using Bloglines. But then it seemed Google Reader might be better since I was already doing so much with google. I added some of the I believe compositions from NPR. I also added sitemeter to my blog.

Thing #2 Web 2.0 - Why care?
I am already feeling relieved a bit from the Web 2.0 frantic -ness. Just knowing that others are struggling with the "how to fit it in"and "what impact will it have" questions makes it seem more manageable and exciting. We are planning to create and write a program for a Web 2.0 classroom as a big experiment - a playground for trying out web 2.0 apps. I'm excited and hope to get more comfortable with some of the newer 2.0 ideas by participating in 23 things.
Thing #1 - blog
I'm going along for the ride with the 23 things on a stick. Missed the registration deadline, but have done some of this and will play on my own. What a great forum for playing!! I have a blog with edublog, but am trying out e blogger for this project.
